Standing Strong

On June 5, 2010, Congregation Standing Strong happily welcomed a Torah scroll into the congregation. The scroll was brought back from Israel after much bargaining and long travel. Rabbi Bristol learned from the antique shop owner, from whom the scroll was bought, that the scroll is over 150 years old and is originally from Iran.

 

At the dedication, there was music, recitation of scripture, and much smiling. Everyone who attended was invited to hold the scroll at some point during the procession.

 

After service, there was a party in celebration of Congregation Standing Strong finally having a real kosher Torah scroll. We are happy to welcome this lovely scroll to its new home!
