Text Box: Our Name
Standing Strong is a reminder that while living in a world, a land, a community where it is easy to capitulate on issues of faith, we are called to stand strongly upon His word and boldly proclaim what we believe. We are to walk out our faith, following all the teachings of the L-rd, in such a way that it is obvious to the world that we are different. We observe Shabbat and the Biblical feasts of HaShem.

Congregation
Congregation means “testimony” in Hebrew. This word has come to mean a group of people that are bound together by the same testimony. We are made up of people of many ethnic backgrounds who love the G-d of the Bible, the land of Israel, His chosen people, and the heritage that is ours either as Jews or as “grafted-in gentiles.”

Standing Strong is a Messianic Congregation with an outreach to followers of the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in Israel.

We have provided micro grants and no-interest loans for business start ups, incubation, planning, and supervision in order to give hope and dignity to believers in G-d in Israel who are trying to break out of poverty, or who have hit a sudden difficulty.  While in Israel,

Dr. Bristol nurtured the natural talents of these people, and trained them how to start businesses to sustain, invigorate and expand the kingdom of G-d.

Now that we are not residing in Israel, our focus is on reaching believers we

Text Box: Our focus in groups is study. This is done in a discovery fashion as seen in the Beit Midrash of Israel.

After the reading of G-d’s word all are encouraged to share their insights in open discussion. People of all ages freely give their impressions with equal respect given to young and old. Respect does not mean lack of disagreement, though, as discussions can become opinionated. We learn to learn from each other. We all need people in our lives that think differently than we do. Each one only sees in part and knows in part. The rabbis use the analogy that the word of G-d is like a rock and studying the rock is like hitting it with a hammer. The small pieces fly off and land in the hands of those studying. Each person can examine his/her piece of the rock and arrogantly and ignorantly argue that their piece of the rock is all there is to the rock and their little piece is the whole shape of the rock.

What do we believe?

Declaration of faith

We, the members of Standing Strong, hold the Holy Scriptures as contained in the “Old and New Testament” of the Bible as our rule of faith and practice.

Our goal is to enrich lives regardless of race, gender, background or other religious affiliations.

We believe in God the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth; and in Yeshua His only Son our Lord, conceived of by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered, died and was buried, arose on the third day, ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. We believe that all men and women should be given the opportunity to become useful members of the Body of Believers, doing meaningful work and be encouraged to help others find their purpose. We believe in allowing individual responsibility for spiritual growth and in allowing each person to do G-d’s work as it is revealed to them.

As G-d fearing and law-abiding people, we claim our heritage and natural right to worship G-d according to the dictates of our own conscience.

We will be working on getting some written material out this year, including a study on head coverings, Shabbat,  and other items of interest to our members.
